Ondo West Leader Joins 2027 Race as APC Opens Sale April 25_

Abuja, Tuesday April 28, 2026, Hon. Otunba Ade Adeniyi, former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly and  past SUBEB Chairman, today obtained his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms at the All Progressives Congress National Secretariat, Abuja.

The Ondo West-born politician, popularly known as _“AdeisOkay”_, arrived at Buhari House in the company of supporters from Ondo East/West Federal Constituency to formally kick-start his bid for the 2027 elections.

How It Happened

The APC officially opened sale of nomination forms for all elective offices on April 25, 2026, with the window running till May 2. Forms are available to _“every member who is running in the election”_ with _“no limitations or restrictions”_.

Hon. Adeniyi fulfilled all requirements and was issued his forms by party officials at the Directorate of Organization, Abuja.

Next Steps

According to the APC timetable released after its 186th NWC meeting, deadline for submission is May 4. Screening of legislative and governorship aspirants holds May 6–8, while presidential screening is May 9. Primaries will follow: House of Reps May 15, Senate May 18, State Assembly May 20, Governorship May 21, and Presidential May 23.

The party adopted a hybrid of direct and consensus primaries. Where consensus fails, the process _“automatically reverts to direct primaries”_. 

Why Ondo West is Watching

Otunba Ade Adeniyi is a former Caretaker Chairman of Ondo West LGA and represented Ondo West Constituency 1 in the State Assembly. His entry formalizes speculations that the respected grassroots mobilizer would seek a return to elective office in 2027.

Supporters say his track record of _“philanthropy, hard work, innovation and records of performance in public offices”_ makes him a strong contender.
